Based on its experience in the production of textiles designed for footwear manufacture, and taking advantage of market opportunities, Alpargatas made its entry into the textile and apparel market. In the 1950s, it entered the suppliers' market, conquering a leading position in the denim production in the 1960s. With the denim boom, the company's textile sector becomes independent as the Textile Division.

Today, textile operations comprise four Business Units:

- Textiles: Textile Division's main Business.
This business unit is responsible for integrated production and marketing of:
- denim (used for jeans manufacturing),
- stretch cotton flat fabrics, and polyester cotton blended fabrics (canvas, serge, gabardine and other fabrics), and
- fabrics used in footwear manufacture by other Alpargatas divisions.

- Cleaning: Produces and markets a broad range of household textiles (including floor cloths, kitchen towels, dish cloths, etc.), with Media Naranja and Rueda brands.

- Home: Controls production and marketing of Alpargatas's licensed household textile brands Palette and Horizons (bed sheets, bedspread, towels, etc.).

- Pampero: Controls production and marketing of Alpargatas's licensed Pampero products. Pampero products include urban and rural workwear, protective clothing and workwear (both gloves and backsupport equipment), protective shoes and coated canvas.
